Matt Ridley on the difference between science and pseudo-science
I meant to post a link to this extremely important lecture by the very remarkable science writer, Matt Ridley, and author of The Rational Optimist a week ago.
Many bloggers have commented on the importance of this lecture, and if there is only one account that people should read on the global warming fraud it is this one. Ridley manages to distil the essential elements of this saga in a very readable manner. It also contains an intriguing discussion of confirmation bias, and how none of us are immune to it. More frightening, is the research he quotes that shows the more you know, the more you fall for it.
